This has been a very educational past week or so. For example, I have learned the following lessons:
1. When making Pumpkin Pancakes, Yoplait Light Vanilla Thick & Creamy yogurt does not substitute for plain, lowfat yogurt. But, with a few adjustments, the batter can be saved to actually make a really good breakfast.
2. If you decide to plant grass, be prepared for a lot of excitement as the little blades begin to pop up through the ground. So much excitement, in fact, that you might just close the locked door behind you and your husband, leaving your panicked dog trapped inside and nothing but a credit card and your husband's amazing skills to get you back in there with him.
3. Watching TLC during the week of your period, which also happens to be a test week, is never a good idea. You will cry while watching it. You will cry again while brushing your teeth. You will cry again while telling your husband goodnight. Lastly, you will cry yourself to sleep. So, don't do it.
4. No matter how experienced/competent you think you are with kids (when you have none of your own), you are not prepared for the rare opportunity to watch 4 of them all at one time. Especially when it's a 6 year old boy, 4 year old boy twins, and a two year old girl. Sure, you will have tons of fun and remember how exciting little things like bubbles and running up the slide are, but you will also need some form of leaverage. We used the promise of a trip to Cold Stone after the little girl woke up. And, you will pass out when you get home...garunteed.
5. If you happen to have a husband who has "test weeks" on a regular basis, you will survive. Even if it's a big test, and it's scheduled on a Monday just to ruin the possibility of any weekend fun you might want to have. Once it was all over, I had a husband who scored an amazing 92.5 and had entire amazing evening to celebrate. It was filled with tempura asparagus, cucumber salad, sushi, ice cream, a movie, LOTS of talking time, and much more!
Learning can be a little difficult sometimes, but I wouldn't trade the lessons for anything...I think...
Love it! Fun lessons sister... you are amazing! :)
ReplyDeleteDon't forget that you've learned to do family history! Love ya! :)
ReplyDeleteThis post just made me laugh. You should do this once a week. Then I'll always know what your weeks are full of :)
ReplyDeleteand WHAT in the world did you watch on TLC that made you cry yourself to sleep?! Surely it wasn't "Little People, Big World" ...
ReplyDeleteUmmm...I didn't want to confess in my post but it was Sister Wives. It's much more lame than crying over sick kids or something...
