So, I already wrote about our camping trip that kicked off the (mid week) start of our Spring Break celebration. But, I have yet to catch up on the rest of the week. With April nearing an end, I figure it's about time for me to actually post these photos that I uploaded weeks ago. We had fun in three different cities in three days...with much of it revolving around food!
On Friday, we headed to Athens. We made it there in time for lunch at Cali N Tito's, which is quite possibly my favorite place to eat ever. If nothing else, it's at least in the top five! I'd been craving a chicken Cuban with tostones for weeks, and it was definitely worth the wait!
Saturday morning we left Athens and headed up to Helen, GA. This is a pretty special place for us as we got engaged the first time Devin ever brought me to visit, and we returned for our first anniversary, too. I love seeing all the horse traffic right as we are coming in to town every time!
Our first stop was a Hofer's. Large piles of authentic German food were consumed after waiting in a very long line for a table. Again, the food was definitely worth the wait.
The day was absolutely gorgeous with the most perfect weather possible. We weren't the only ones taking advantage of the day.
Our previous trips hadn't been quite so busy, so there were always people in the background of our pictures. But, it made for a fun atmosphere in town. We enjoyed browsing the shops, seeing some of the street performers, and hitting up one of the chocolate shops.
After touring Helen, we climbed Anna Ruby Falls. The previous two times we did this, we had the entire viewing deck to ourselves. This time, it was pretty congested even on the trail getting up there. We didn't stay for very long. But, we did manage to at least get a similar picture to our last two climbs after waiting for a break in the crowds.
After leaving Helen, we headed to Atlanta where we went out to dinner with all the Stephens siblings who were in town. We stayed with Devin's sister and brother in law that night and enjoyed Easter with the whole family the next day.
After our traditional Easter dinner, we had our annual egg hunt. I thought I did pretty well for being pregnant, but even our five year old niece out paced me...sigh. Afterwards, we headed back to Augusta to get back to our busy lives...and our boys who acted as if we'd left them forever.
